April 2010 Update

by Father Robert Lyons on 04/21/10

Dear Friends in Christ,

As we are deep into the Paschal Season, we continue to recall the goodness and compassion of our Risen Lord, who died that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. In the weeks that lay ahead, our Scripture readings begin shifting towards preparing us to live our lives more fully in the Spiritual power promised to us through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I hope that these readings touch your heart and spirit as we celebrate the Sacred Mysteries.

As many of you may know, the 2010 RESA Synodical Convention is fast approaching, scheduled for 28 - 30 May, 2010 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee at St. Andrew's Church. Any member of St. Boniface is welcome to attend. Rooms are avaliable at several local hotels. Please let me know if you are interested in more information. We will be reviewing the Canons and giving consideration to our final edition of the Book of Common Prayer in light of the comments from Synod members on the use of the interim book. Keep your eyes peeled for more information. The fact that the convention runs into a Sunday does, unfortunately, mean that there will be no Divine Service on Sunday, May 30th. Please consult your Prayerbook for the readings for the day and pray at home as we pray for you in Tennessee.

Early June will also mark the Feast of Saint Boniface - this year the feast day falls on a Saturday, so we will be observing it with a celebration of the Divine Service and a Barbecue. I hope you will consider joining us!

That's about all for this update. We are still praying about our direction, our mission, and our ministry outreach potentials. We hope you will be praying for us as well.

Paschal Blessings,

Rob+
